5th grade students have been studying buoyancy. They tested their knowledge today by building aluminum foil boats. They tested their designs by adding weight to see if they would sink!

A good turnout for Tractor Tuesday. FFA members enjoyed driving their tractors to school and students were able to learn about the tractors and safety, especially blind spots on big machinery.



Galatia FFA members recently competed in the Section 25 public speaking CDE. They placed 2nd as a team. Hannah moves on to compete at district in Varsity prepared and Kayleigh moves on to compete at district in creed speaking.

Highlighting some recent accomplishments of the members. Jaedyn, Hannah, & Kate received their State FFA degree, the highest degree Illinois awards a member. Kate was also named Section 25 Star State Farmer.

Kicked off FFA week with an early morning interview at WEBQ. Officers discussed activities of the chapter and upcoming events. Thanks to WEBQ for hosting the interviews.

Dance is tonight at the Community Center.

GGS YOU DID IT! We met our $2,500 goal today! Our total so far is $2,508.43! We still have 19 school days to collect money...let's see if we can top $3,000! YOU'RE AWESOME!


The Galatia HS Student Council will be delivering toys, craft supplies, and necessities to St. Jude Hospital on March 19th. We would also love to take them a monetary donation. Please contact Ms. Harbin or a Stu Co member to participate in this great event!

Congratulations to the Varsity Scholar Bowl team on placing 4th at the Masonic Lodge Scholar Bowl Tournament. The school will receive $100 for their efforts.


Galatia School District’s faculty and staff were very thankful Dr. Kelly Stewart presented The Enerrgy Bus during the the inservice Friday afternoon.
