Senior Spotlight!! Emma Stricklin
Favorite memory from high school: My favorite memory would have to be listening to Sophia Shelton's "Dear Lordy Jesus" prayers before every softball game, and riding electronic animals up and down the mall with Sophia, Christian, AJ, and Wyatt.
Plans after high school: I plan to continue my education out this fall at SIU in the PTA program! I am so excited to become a future Saluki while going to school for my dream job. After SIU, I plan to enroll in a hybrid program to get my doctorate degree to become a physical therapist, and enjoy life!
Advice for future seniors: My advice for future seniors is to chase your dreams. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it, Matthew 19:26! Best wishes to all you future seniors!
Junior high volleyball starts their postseason run tonight. They play Akin in the first round of regionals tonight at 6:30. All regional games are played at Ewing Elementary. Good luck girls!
The Jr. High/ High School Drama Club will be performing Beauty and the Beast Jr. this Friday and Saturday night in the high school gym. Doors open at 5:00 pm and the show starts at 6:00 both nights. Don't miss it! These kids are amazing!

Congratulations to these jr. high boys basketball players. Kamdyn Wood, Isiah Plumlee, and Ryne Foster were chosen to play in the Southern Illinois Premier All-Star Classic this weekend. Ryne plays in the 7th grade game Saturday at 9:30 am. Kamdyn and Isiah play in the 8th grade game Sunday at 8:00 am. Good luck boys!
Yesterday was the start of Galatia-Thompsonville softball season. Bearcats Emma Stricklin and Lanie Williams both hit out of the park grand slams! Great job girls!
High school baseball and softball seasons kick off today. Both teams play at home against Ziegler Royalton at 4:30. Come out and support our softball and baseball teams!
The Basscats won their tournament this weekend, and in the process a new individual record was set. Issac Irvin had previously held the record for largest bass caught at 6 lbs. Mace Ridgeway broke that record this weekend landing one weighing in at 8 lbs., 8 oz! Great job Basscats and congratulations to Mace. Attached are pictures of Isaac with the previous record and Mace with the new record.
Thank you to all of the families that came to the carnival and helped support the drama club. We loved to see all of the kids and their families having a great time. A special thank you to all of the staff members that came and helped out with the carnival. It wouldn't have been possible to do it without you. Thank you all again.
