Today we got to celebrate with Eli Hankins as he announced his next step after high school. Eli has signed with Westminster College to play baseball next year. Congratulations to Eli and his family! Great job!

High school baseball starts their post season run today against NCOE. Game is at Dowell City Park (Elverado). 4:30 game time.

Galatia Grade School Awards day is tomorrow May 22nd. Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd will begin at 8:30am grades 3-5 will begin at 9:30. Doors will NOT open until 8:15am Please be respectful of our drop off line..

Congratulations to the following Bearcats for earning all conference honors. For baseball, Eli Hankins was selected as conference MVP! Joey Sais was named Captain! Hunter Gaither also earned all conference with Bryson Roberts being named honorable mention. For softball, Miley Murphy earned all conference honors while Kailyn Kahl and Amilya Williford were named honorable mention. Great job Bearcats!!

Today's high school baseball game will be played at SIC. Game time is 4:30.

Today's high school softball tournament has been postponed. Any make up plans will be announced at a later date.

Graduation Update!

We're excited to announce that Galatia Grade School's Green Team has been awarded SECOND place among schools across the state for this year's Illinois Green Schools Project! The IGSP is a student-led, year-long sustainability initiative aimed at reducing the environmental impact of schools throughout Illinois. Our sustainability project this year centered around recycling and composting. We were able to create 6 garden beds using 100% recycled materials and diverted over 100 pounds of waste from the landfill. Congratulations to Mrs. Kragness and our very own Green Team!

Please make sure that you get your orders in for your Grade School and Jr. High yearbooks in by May 30th. They are $20 each. Everyone should have received an email from Interstate Studios or have gotten a form sent home. If you didn't get one, you can always come to the grade school and fill one out. I do have extras. Reminder! 8th grade parents/guardians. Our 8th grade trip to Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is May 21st. The park is now cashless. Please visit https://www.holidayworld.com/cashless for more information if your child will be making purchases inside the park. Lunch will be provided at the park, but students will need money if they wish purchase breakfast at McDonalds in Carmi, and dinner at Subway on the way home. Park safety rules are posted on their website at www.Holidayworld.com/rules. Students need to be at school at 7:15 and we should arrive home between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.
